“I hold Sarah in the highest regard as a person. She complements her high intelligence and creative gifts with character traits of diligence, responsibility, and integrity. I know Sarah to be a remarkably creative, inquisitive, dynamic, and caring individual who demonstrates the same communications skills, generosity of spirit, honesty, and discipline. . . in her writing.“

–Gerald Locklin— friend, poet & and writer. Author of Bukowski: A Sure Bet; Hemingway in Cuba; Poop and Other Poems, and much more.

In her debut poetry collectionAnd Now This, Sarah Daugherty invites readers into a vivid tapestry of emotion, experience, and raw reflection. A teacher, co-editor of Chiron Review, and a poet, Sarah skillfully blends the everyday with the extraordinary, exploring themes of love, grief, and self-discovery amidst the chaos of modern life.

Each poem is an exploration of life’s contradictions – the tension between silence and sound, chaos and calm. Her words resonate with quiet moments, where laughter meets lament, and where each stanza invites us to reflect, feel, and breathe.

Sarah’s poignant imagery and lyrical voice leads each reader through a journey of hope, resilience, and the power of human connection. Her poetry collection, And Now This, dares us to confront the beauty and chaos of existence, reminding us all that even in the darkest of times, there is always a way through.
