“These are poems that probe and question, that glide from crystallized moments of daily life to poignant consideration of the nature of our world now.  They are sensual and particular, yet they capture longings, fears, and simple gratitudes that are universal.  You will stop and think, you will nod in recognition.  You will want to re-read.  “

–Noelle Sickels, poet, historical novelist (Walking West, The Shop Keeper’s Wife, The Medium, and Out of Love) and biographer Searching for Armando.

“These poems are the story of a city on the edge of a river that may be thwarted and hazardous, but also offers up frog song and wild roses to the lonely, who are all of us.  And since De Angelis doesn’t look away from rot and despair, she’s also witness to the wild grasses breaking through concrete and constellations in the light-polluted sky.  Her words are medicine.”

–Julia Mary Gibson, novelist, Copper Magic, her essay “After Lennon” won the 2018  Barry Lopez Nonfiction Prize.
