Gathering Leaves for War: Poems

Born in the rural community of Alexandria, Kentucky, Christopher Collins served twelve years in the US Army Reserves. He served as a platoon leader in Afghanistan (’02-’03), and he completed two more combat tours as a Detachment Commander in Iraq (’04-’05; ’09-’10). He graduated from Thomas More College in 1998, and completed his Masters degree in 2001 at Xavier University (Ohio). He graduates in 2013 with his MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Murray State University.
His poetry has been published in the anthology Against Agamemnon: War Poetry, and in various journals such as The Licking River Review, The Chaffin Journal, and The Heartland Review.
Collins lives in Independence, Kentucky, with his wife and two children, and he teaches English at Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
