I am Carolina by Philip Comfort

$19.99

I am Carolina by Philip Comfort is a tribute to awe-inspiring nature. In this beautiful collection Comfort powerfully explores the sea and the coastal life of the Carolinas. In nature, Comfort communes with Spirit God. In “Attending a Pauwau” the reader meets GrandfatherGod whose “living Spirit saturates the dancers / ringing the sacred circle around the sacred fire” on the Wacammau Indian Reserve, South Carolina. In Wrightsville, North Carolina in the striking poem “Being in This Moment” bluefish run fast while “the gulls chasing minnows tell / fishermen fling their poles in hope of catch.” Using language equally vivid and veiled, Comfort, bathes the reader in inspiration, moves it like water across the ocean– “the seen and the seer; facing each other strangely familiar.”
