Soil is a jagged journey through bewildering loss of love, of self, and of motherhood. It explores a woman’s roots, the relationships that warp and form her, and the bounty that inevitably blooms when she stops tugging at those roots. Dig, bury, seed, unearth, and reap. Bring a shovel.
Maja Malgorzata Zmyslowski is an award-winning writer born in Poland, grown in California and matured in Arizona, harboring dreams of casting an anchor into the forests of the Pacific Northwest. When she’s not longing for snow and working on her novel, she’s flirting with the summer monsoons, wondering what kind of tea to make. Her poems have appeared in North American Review, Mid-American Review, The Briar Cliff Review and Reed Magazine. Her flash fiction and other work can also be found online and at www.majazmyslowski.com.
