A CUMULUS FICTION by Judith Pacht

A lucid, turn-on-a-dime ‘game’ of hybrid conversations with ancient haiku becomes, in Pacht’s elegantly compressed idiom, a surprisingly postmodern standoff between the artfulness of death and the inevitability of desire.

–Dorothy Barresi

Each page of this book of acrostic responses to classic haiku is beautiful to look at, like cumulus clouds— beauty piled on beauty. Calming, meditative, but also, like cumulus clouds, powerful, dangerous, and with brilliant flashes of insight.

–Richard Garcia
