A Life in the 20th Century by Nathalie Marguerite Grandjean (second edition)

$26.99

My first impression of A Life in the 20th Century came from the cover— that sweet, serious little face of Nathalie. I felt I could trust her account of her family’s life.
The detail is intense! I could see and feel everything she described. As she mentioned, the only things missing are the actual sounds and smells of the memories.
What strikes me most of all is that, though these stories are of her life and family, they  could also be any of ours. She showed us that Ordinary lives are, in fact quite Extraordinary.

Nathalie Marguerite Grandjean is 100 years old.

I am a family genealogist. When I started writing this memoir it was with the intention of providing my descendants, who might be interested in genealogy, with clues so they would be able to uncover more information about my family. We were such nomads no one would be able to follow us in our wanderings without some directions. When my children read the draft, they were surprised by the way some of the things were done in my time. I realized then that my memoir was more than a map of our wanderings. Welcome to one person’s view of the Twentieth Century.
