Abscission by K. Alma Peterson

$20.99

In Abscission, landscape/seascape and intense and vivid thinking about abstract concepts– huge human ideas: simplification, consciousness itself, loss, memory, reality, and where we belong on earth, when alive, when we are ghosts– all of this collides, combines, and challenges the reader.  These poems are exquisite. Peterson’s images, and the deep heart and mind creating those images, makes a world we do not wish to leave, even as grief, and memory, and thoughts how our lives will end take over the momentum of this collection. There are essential visions in each poem.

–Deborah Keenan is author of eleven collections of poetry, and a book of writing ideas, from tiger to prayer.
