AFTER THE HURRICANE by Barbara W. Sass

“Errant words will wander home,” Barbara Sass writes in her poem “In Literal Pursuit,” and throughout her marvelous collection her exquisite lines and sentences convey the same feeling of surprise and inevitability—the sense of a home found and held amidst uncertainty. This poet’s formal mastery, her tonal range, and her abiding sympathy for her subjects make her chapbook an invaluable contribution to American poetry. After the Hurricane offers reason for great gratitude.

–Peter Campion, Author of El Dorado (University of Chicago Press)
