Careful by Weston Cutter

The poems in Weston Cutter’s Careful are wild—wild with love, with marriage, with three little girls and simultaneity. Of course, it’s complicated, because when one lives in the wilderness and bewilderment of love, one wants more of it, conspires to keep it, prays that it won’t fall apart in an instant. In their yearning for more, these poems are a kind of care/full resistance, an embrace of the light and the darkness both at once. That’s probably badly put, but what I mean is they don’t take their good fortune for granted. Mercifully these poems are given and received. Read them, and let go.
