Dust to Dust by Bridget Dolan charmingly depicts the love affair of a woman and her garden. The poet is word drunk and in love with the natural world as “clumsy fingers/ fumble /through patches /of clovers, /three leaf, /three leaf, / three leaf–/ never four” are found while “bees dock/ on the roses/ … wetting their/ delicate feet/ with the love/ between flowers.” Dolan embraces the awe of nature, and the way it can offer healing to the soul.
