M. Lee Alexander’s poetry is inspired by her love of language, music, nature, and travel. She has published two chapbooks (Observatory 2007, Folly Bridge 2011) with Finishing Line Press, and her full-length poetry collection is under contract with Aquillrelle Press. Her work has appeared in a number of journals such as Beltway Quarterly, Niederngasse, Quill and Parchment, The MacGuffin, and Artemis, and has also been anthologized in several volumes. It has won significant awards including the Yeovil Poetry Prize 2009 judged by then UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. She performs her work, sometimes with jazz accompaniment, in the US and abroad. She teaches creative writing at William and Mary and lives in Williamsburg VA with a houseful of pets.
