These poems possess a marvelous poise as they balance between what makes us come undone—all the hard facts—and what puts us back together—imagination and love. The feelings that steadily arise are sharp yet expansive. The locales vary from a dirt road to Yankee Stadium to a motel in Maine but the ardor that distinguishes poetry, that rising to take the measure of both difficulty and beauty, never flags.

–Baron Wormser, Former Poet Laureate of Maine
