Elaine Nussbaum is a former special education teacher and occasionally teaches poetry and lyrics at a juvenile detention center in Portland, Oregon. She holds a Certificate in Poetics from Naropa University (1986), and an MFA in Writing from Pacific University (2013). In 1986, she walked across the USA with the Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament. Her work has appeared in Poetry Seattle, Bombay Gin, Dog River Review, The Sun, Spilt Infinitive, Louisiana Literature, Women on the Brink, Silk Road, and Thimbleberry. Her chapbook, Poems in the Key of D-Flat was published in 1992. Ms. Nussbaum was born in Seattle, Washington and currently lives in Scappoose, Oregon with her husband, her cat Squeak, her hen Rocky and her rooster Echinacea.
