Candice Louisa Daquin has written poetry since childhood. Her early years were influenced by her grandparents who were artists. She spent a lot of time displaced and transplanted, living in four different countries by her mid-twenties and this feeling of impermanence keenly permeates her body of work. Daquin’s background in publishing, literature and psychology continues to inform the sphere of influence in her writing.  Daquin is currently working on her next book and is an active believer in equal-rights and political reform, she lives in the American Southwest.

Loved this book!!… Candice’s range of emotion, topics & subject matter, and magnificently crafted poetry invites one to visit and linger with each poem. The thoughts, observations, self realizations, social commentary about the human condition, imagery, metaphor, and the beautiful narrative style integrated into some of her work makes her poetry thought provoking and pure magic to read. Highly recommend this book and author!

“Pinch the Lock” is a clear depiction of emotion, raw beauty, and a distinctiveness in language that only Candice can convey. “Marriage”, “400 Breakups,” “Repulsion”, and “Lighthouse” are just a few of the solid pieces of poetry printed within these pages. It is truly worth reading.
