What Makes Us Purple is a book about noise, boys, dads, daughters, and dogs. In poems about Fruit Loops, algebra problems, wrestling, and Mary Oliver, it finds the poetic in the domestic. With clear lines about moments in everyday life, these narrative poems explore raising kids, personal loss, neurodivergence, and masculinity at the dining room table. Throughout this book, the deeply personal becomes significantly universal as the reader is invited to enter a home and hear its music. #poetry #masculinity #domestic #neurodivergence #family
