DM Frech has the gift for taking a surprising angle on the world as if it were the most natural view, in a plain-spoken voice that somehow pierces to the heart of every moment on first encounter, and she has the craft to explore that moment in accumulating circles of context, letting the ripples of that initial wonder radiate in unforeseen ways. She takes us from a sometimes droll, sometimes dead-pan astonishment, and leads us deeper, into heartbreak and poignancy, and it is a journey well worth taking.

Very Good! A poetry book that makes you think. Very moving, very powerful. I think the author has an immense amount of internal information she is slowly releasing to the world. Can’t wait for her next writing!

Words From Walls is a refreshing look at spiritual and loving relationships. I especially loved Darkest Corner, God Broke the Silence, and Praises to God. An inspiring collection of superb poetry that will leave you thinking.

    Good message, but very short

I read much more fiction than poetry, but this book has a few poems I enjoyed. Some lines stood out to me, in particular:

    God Broke the Silence
“God found us in our hovels”
“He whispered in tiers of blue skies”

    Quiet
“decapitated with the stroll of hours”
“as minutes pushed the day into tomorrow”

    Words from Walls
“tiny kittens seem fierce against my pearls of faith”

As a Christian, I appreciated the themes found herein. But as a reader, I would like to see more material.

A refreshing collection of poetry! DM Frech hit the mark with vibrant word images and thoughtful meditations on real-life questions and themes. I found “Words From Walls” to be touching and filled with “Ooh, I wish I’d written that!” moments.

  8. Olivia Fox

A lovely book. DM Frech moves from her inward to her outward life and back again with honesty and delight.

D.M. Frech has written a book of original poetry that clearly reflects the heart of an artist and thoughtful mind. The poems are brief and to the point. She writes of how God speaks to people who will listen (The Darkest Corner), of how she found hope (Hope in Emptiness), and of how God can heal a broken or empty life (Heal). Each poem is carefully and thoughtfully crafted, wrapped, if you will, in a beautiful wrapping of deep and simple words that clearly come from Frech’s heart and reflect, no doubt her struggles that God has helped her through. What a pleasant read! It is a very short manuscript but, big things come in such short books. “Take it up and read it!” (Augustine).

This is a work of art. I believe true beauty contains truth. The truth in these poems brings hope, and light to dark places. I feel seen even as I catch a glimpse into the shadows of her world. Does she see me also slumped in my shadows? It feels like solidarity, sisterhood, and the satisfaction of redemption.

  11. Amy Heilman

DM (beautiful poet)gives pulsating words to raw emotions of human existence. From the depth of her writing she brings one back to the surface of HOPE & LIGHT.
Grateful to have my hands on this little gem!

  12. Cindy L Freeman

Each poem in this collection expresses what all humans feel at one time or another. That is the ultimate goal of poetry, after all. Frech reminds us that life is a journey of challenges and struggles, but when we surrender them to God in faith and trust, we find peace.

This book is a collection of poems that are kept, unspoken and only released within these walls – a colorful array of words…from where…when… whose walls?
