Family Snapshot as a Poem in Time by G. H. Mosson

$14.99

Family Snapshot as a Poem in Time portrays fatherhood at once particular and universal, reflecting a father’s love for his daughter and son with unforgettable imagery, resonance, and song. It traces a path through time and circles back to childhood gazing at the moon. Reading Mosson’s work confirms why we need poetry in today’s world.

–Meryl Peters, Santa Barbara City College

Mosson’s Peek-a-Boo Moon poems use alliteration, rhyme and playful imagery to capture the simplicity and curiosity of childhood.  A joy to read and for reading aloud, these soothing odes to the sky, moon and sun can put kids to sleep while twinkling their imaginations.

–Amanda I. Greene, children’s author of Reflections of a Blueberry and When You are Blue

Mosson’s long poem Family Snapshot as a Poem in Time is demanding in the way of all puzzles but rewarding in the way the mind discovers.  Then, this chapbook niftily ends with lyrics of a father’s dreamy walks in the moonlight with his children; they led me close to the fondest memories of my own.  Mosson is creative in the truest sense of inventive. His snapshot offers a good pursuit.

–Dave Smith, Poet-in-Residence, Univ. of Mississippi, and author of Little Boats, Unsalvaged: Poems 1992–2004
