A NEW POETRY BOOK ABOUT CONSCIOUSNESS, CREATION AND MINDFULNESS

Third Eye on the Prize, the latest collection of poems by writer, teacher and healer Debra Sansone, will be released October 9. This is the third volume of Sansone’s poetry published by Finishing Line Press. We are  taken on a deep dive into startling revelations of form and essence offered up by both the natural and human-made worlds. With these poems, the author continues her long-time exploration into the power of consciousness and mindfulness, contrasted with the absurdity of our sometimes mindless foibles. Maureen Buchanan Jones, author of Maud & Addie and Director of Writing Full Tilt, writes, “The poems are full of deep, rich questions, wry wit and startling honesty.” Sansone bows to the power of natural forms in Iris, Three Mothers in Your Head, Nuclear Family Test Ban Entreaty, and Elephant Song. She reveals personal life lessons in Repair, Hiccups and Interstices, First Intensive, and Backseat Baby Boomer, and marvels at the intricacy of her native tongue in Where Two or More are Gathered. “Sansone stuns us with powerful, dynamic and sensitive language,” writes Sherri Bedingfield, author of Transitions and Transformations. The poems in Third Eye on the Prize mine the rich lode to be found in the incongruities between appearance and reality.
